Problems with wireless router, I keep getting "401 unauthorized". 10 points!?

I have a netgear wireless g router and I did everything to set it up according to the online manual. I also went to tools, internet options, security and chose local intranet and chose custom level, selected prompt for pword. After setting everything up I was supposed to go to routerlogin.com and enter "admin" for the username and "pword" for the pword. But when I do this I get a message that says "401 unauthorized." So how can I log into my routher when I keep getting that "401 unauthorized" message?
