How good a guitarist is Dominic Miller?

Well, he was a good popular music guitarist, who discovered clical guitar quite late on. To be honest that reflects in his music, it really lacks the pure technique or emotional depth of a true clical guitarist, and for me ends up being fairly pretty 'lift music'. I'm not sure how I feel about these 'crossover artistes'; not sure whether they are making clical music more accessible, or dumbing it down so that it becomes just so much 'product' for the Sony music corporation..
