Does the story about the world ending in 2012 seem stupid to you?

It does to me. In fact it kind of has the same story line as a film called Disney's Hercules i watched as a child. In the film all nine planets aline and than the titans are unleashed reacking havock on the world. Kind of reminds me about 2012. What do you think?
