On the television show Intervention, what is the incentive for the addicts to be in the doentary? ?

I would think they would be scared that there dealers would get angry or they would lose their ability to get a job or a multitude of reasons to avoid participating being in the doentary. I know the family is in on it for the intervention part, but what is the incentive for the addict?
