Giants sign Edgar Renteria?

Why would the Giants do this? This is not a good signing for SF. Brian Sebean has yet again dissapionted me in the way he addresses the Giants growing problems. He spent way too much money for a player who wont really get the giants good enought to be atop the NL West. And its a 2 year deal which to me says they also dont think this is a good long term idea. They signed a 2 year rent-a-player who wont help this team to a championship unless they get other players. Omars tenure with the giants was over months ago when they announced they werent going to resign him. Back to Renteria, hes a fine player and would fit in with many teams to give them the potential boost they need, but the Giants need much more than an Edgar Renteria. I really hope Phil Nuekum and Larry Baer will finally get rid of Brian Sebean who has sent the Giants into a tailspin for the last 6 years while wasting money on players who either dont perform or arent needed.
